Every change starts with observation
Late 1970s. Car repair shop in southern Germany. Summer. Mechanics are testing cars being repaired with the windows and gate open—a thick layer of smoke billows from the vehicles’ exhaust pipes. The rooms are filled with the characteristic smell of exhaust fumes. A man waiting for his Mercedes watches from a distance, probably finding a way to improve the quality of work in the workshop.
1978
The beginnings of NORFI
The man with the Mercedes is the first owner of NORFI Unwelttechnik GmbH. He is responsible for the direction of the company founded in 1978.
2003
New opening
After 25 years of stable operations, NORFI is experiencing a new chapter in the company. Young, creative employees are taking over the leadership of the company. Changes are coming, and with them comes a new name for the company NORFI Absaugtechnik GmbH – our future business partner.
2004
The first automatic exhaust extractor
Just one year after changes in the company, NORFI is introducing new products to its offer. The flagship solution for vehicle factories is the first fully automatic exhaust gas extraction system that does not require ongoing maintenance or supervision by an employee.
2006
New products mean greater possibilities
NORFI’s design and development department is rewriting the company’s history, strengthening the company’s position in the automotive industry. This year, we are offering battery charging systems on the production line.
2008
International network of business partners
NORFI’s presence at international trade fairs allows us to establish new business contacts. Our products are exported to other countries, where we initiate local cooperation with companies interested in exhaust gas extraction.
2009
The Polish thread starts here
Another man in a BMW who, after years of working for another company, decides to use the experience he has gained on his own. He convinced partners from Germany of his mature vision, which is how NORFI Polska sp. z o.o. was established.
2011
Fire section
A busy year. We are introducing nearly 20 new products to our offer, designed to eliminate exhaust fumes from Rescue and Firefighting Units.
2012
Carcinogenic diesel exhaust fumes
The harmful effects of diesel exhaust have been discussed since the 1990s, but it was not until 2012 that scientists associated with the WHO unequivocally stated that diesel exhaust fumes cause various types of cancer, heart disease and infertility. This groundbreaking WHO publication has become a chance for us to change the habits of employees exposed to exhaust fumes and the attitude of employers to the need to eliminate exhaust fumes.

2019
A decade in exhaust gases
